Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool completely.
  9. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water to make icing.
  10. Add food coloring if desired and mix until smooth.
  11. Decorate cookies with royal icing.
