Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • Red sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix until smooth, then stir in boiling water.
  6. Fill the cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cupcakes cool completely.
  9. Frost with buttercream and add sprinkles.
