Description

Delicious Valentine’s cookies decorated with royal icing.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup royal icing
  • Food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract; mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture; combine to form a dough.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Cut out desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  8. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool completely.
  10. Decorate with royal icing and food coloring.
