- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for frosting)
- Red and pink sprinkles
- Valentine-themed ring toppers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add softened butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk. Mix until smooth.
- Divide batter into lined cupcake tins.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat confectioners’ sugar and butter until creamy. Add milk gradually to reach desired consistency.
- Frost cooled cupcakes with the frosting.
- Decorate with sprinkles and place valentine ring toppers on each cupcake.
Notes
- Use food coloring for a more vibrant frosting.
- Store cupcakes in an airtight container.
- Can substitute cocoa powder with vanilla for a different flavor.
