Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
- Slowly add hot syrup to egg whites, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Add vanilla extract and a few drops of red food coloring. Mix well.
- Pour mixture into a greased pan and spread evenly.
- Let sit for 4 hours or until set.
- Cut into shapes and dust with powdered sugar and cornstarch.
