Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes for 10 minutes in the pans, then turn out onto wire racks.
- For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream.
- Add vanilla and mix until smooth.
- Once cakes are cool, frost between layers and on top.
- Decorate with red food coloring or heart-shaped sprinkles.

- Make sure the cakes are completely cool before frosting.
- You can substitute milk with almond milk for a dairy-free option.
- Use a heart-shaped cake pan for a romantic touch.
