Delicious and beautifully decorated cookies for Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Royal icing for decoration
  • Food coloring for icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
  6. Roll dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with a glass.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Let cool completely before decorating.
  10. Use royal icing and food coloring to decorate as desired.
