Delicious Valentine cookies decorated with buttercream icing.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Food coloring (red and pink)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into heart shapes.
  7. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Let cookies cool completely.
  9. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to create buttercream.
  10. Divide and color the buttercream with food coloring.
  11. Decorate the cooled cookies with buttercream.
