- 1 cup sponge cake, crumbled
- 2 cups mixed berries
- 1 cup custard
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/4 cup sherry (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sponge cake and crumble it into pieces.
- Layer half of the crumbled cake at the bottom of a trifle dish.
- Drizzle sherry over the cake (if using).
- Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the cake.
- Spread half of the custard over the berries.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Finish with a layer of whipped cream and garnish with berries.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use seasonal fruits for the best flavor.
- Can substitute custard with pudding if preferred.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit sherry.
