Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and stir until combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  8. While baking, mix strawberries with sugar and let sit.
  9. Once cakes are cool, slice in half and layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
  10. Top with the other half of the cake and more whipped cream.
