- 1 pre-made tart shell
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Edible rose petals for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat until just simmering.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and cornstarch.
- Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking continuously.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in rose water.
- Pour the custard into the tart shell and let it cool.
- Once cooled, top with sliced strawberries and garnish with rose petals.
Notes
- Chill the tart for a few hours before serving for better flavor.
- Use fresh strawberries for best results.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
