Description

Instructions

  1. Rinse the black eyed peas under cold water.
  2. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  4. Add black eyed peas, water, ham hock, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Remove the ham hock, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
  7. Serve hot.
