Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  8. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the batter.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cool before cutting into bars.
