Description
Scalloped potatoes are a creamy and cheesy side dish made with thinly sliced potatoes.
Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add half of the heavy cream and half of the cheese.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped onions between the layers.
- Let the dish sit for 10 minutes before serving.
