Description
A simple and nutritious dish made with refried black eyed peas.
Ingredients

- 2 cups cooked black eyed peas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add cooked black eyed peas and cumin to the pan.
- Mash the peas with a fork or potato masher.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Notes
- Serve warm with tortillas or rice.
- Adjust spiciness by adding chili powder if desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
