- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Blue and white food coloring
- Royal icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
- Mix in milk and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Add blue food coloring to one and leave the other white.
- Pour the batters into prepared pans and swirl lightly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely before decorating.
- Use royal icing to create the Rangers emblem on top.
