Description

A simple and hearty dish made with pork and sauerkraut, cooked slowly in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 can (28 ounces) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Place pork shoulder in the crockpot.
  2. Add drained sauerkraut on top of the pork.
  3. Layer sliced onions and apples over the sauerkraut.
  4. Sprinkle caraway seeds and black pepper on top.
  5. Pour chicken broth into the crockpot.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until pork is tender.

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or bread.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
