Description
A simple and hearty dish made with pork and sauerkraut, cooked slowly in a crockpot.
Ingredients

- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 can (28 ounces) sauerkraut, drained
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 apples, sliced
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Place pork shoulder in the crockpot.
- Add drained sauerkraut on top of the pork.
- Layer sliced onions and apples over the sauerkraut.
- Sprinkle caraway seeds and black pepper on top.
- Pour chicken broth into the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until pork is tender.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or bread.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
