- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, brown the pork on all sides over medium heat.
- Transfer the pork to a roasting pan.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion until translucent.
- Add the sauerkraut, chicken broth, and caraway seeds to the skillet.
- Pour the mixture over the pork in the roasting pan.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes to brown the top.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve with potatoes or bread.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
