Description

Peppermint thumbprint cookies are festive treats filled with minty goodness.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt. Stir until combined.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  9. Melt chocolate chips and fill the center of each cookie.
  10. Sprinkle crushed peppermint on top of the chocolate.
