Description
Peppermint thumbprint cookies are festive treats filled with minty goodness.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add the flour and salt. Stir until combined.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Melt chocolate chips and fill the center of each cookie.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint on top of the chocolate.
