A delicious cake inspired by Michigan football.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Blue and yellow food coloring
- Buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients and buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter into two bowls.
- Add blue food coloring to one bowl and yellow to the other.
- Pour the blue batter into a greased cake pan, followed by the yellow batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before frosting.
Notes
- Use a football-shaped cake pan for a themed look.
- Decorate with additional buttercream to create a football field design.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
