Description

Traditional dishes served during Lunar New Year celebrations.


Ingredients

  • Sticky rice – 2 cups
  • Red bean paste – 1 cup
  • Lotus leaves – 5 pieces
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Coconut milk – 1 cup
  • Sesame seeds – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Soak sticky rice in water for 4 hours.
  2. Drain the rice and mix with coconut milk and sugar.
  3. Lay out lotus leaves and place a portion of the rice mixture on each leaf.
  4. Add a spoonful of red bean paste on top of the rice.
  5. Fold the leaves over the filling to form a packet.
  6. Steam the packets for 30 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

  • Adjust sweetness to your liking.
  • Can substitute red bean paste with other fillings.
