Description
Traditional dishes served during Lunar New Year celebrations.
Ingredients
- Sticky rice – 2 cups
- Red bean paste – 1 cup
- Lotus leaves – 5 pieces
- Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Coconut milk – 1 cup
- Sesame seeds – 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Soak sticky rice in water for 4 hours.
- Drain the rice and mix with coconut milk and sugar.
- Lay out lotus leaves and place a portion of the rice mixture on each leaf.
- Add a spoonful of red bean paste on top of the rice.
- Fold the leaves over the filling to form a packet.
- Steam the packets for 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to your liking.
- Can substitute red bean paste with other fillings.
