Lobster Thermidor is a classic French dish featuring lobster meat cooked in a creamy, rich sauce, then baked with cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 whole lobsters (1.5 lbs each)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil lobsters in salted water for 10-12 minutes until cooked. Remove and let cool.
  2. Extract the lobster meat and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add lobster meat, heavy cream, mustard, and brandy. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in half of the cheese.
  6. Fill lobster shells with the mixture. Top with remaining cheese.
  7. Broil in the oven for 5-7 minutes until cheese is golden.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
