Description

Traditional potato pancakes made from grated potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, grated
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Grate the potatoes and onion into a large bowl.
  2. Drain excess moisture from the grated potatoes.
  3. Add beaten eggs, flour, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  4. Mix until well combined.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Spoon the potato mixture into the skillet, flattening each pancake slightly.
  7. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Serve with applesauce or sour cream.
  • Best eaten fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
