Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk egg whites, melted butter, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
- If desired, add food coloring to the batter.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Remove from the oven and quickly place a fortune in the center.
- Fold the cookie in half and then gently bend the edges to form a fortune cookie shape.
- Allow to cool completely.
