Description
Ohio Buckeyes are delicious chocolate and peanut butter treats that resemble the nut of the buckeye tree.
Ingredients

- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix peanut butter and softened butter until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the balls for about 30 minutes until firm.
- Melt chocolate chips and vegetable shortening together in a microwave or double boiler.
- Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, leaving a small portion of the peanut butter exposed on top.
- Return dipped balls to the baking sheet and let them set until chocolate hardens.
Notes
- Store in a cool place or refrigerate.
- Use a toothpick for easier dipping.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less powdered sugar.
