  • 2 green chilies, slit

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  6. Add soaked black-eyed peas, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.
  7. Add water to cover the peas, bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until peas are tender.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
