Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Color one bowl with green food coloring.
- Pour the green batter into one pan and the plain batter into the other.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on wire racks.
- Layer the cakes with white frosting in between and cover the entire cake with chocolate frosting.
