Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, enough to submerge the lobster.
- Add salt if desired, about 1 tablespoon per quart of water.
- Bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Grab the lobster by the body and drop it headfirst into the boiling water.
- Cover the pot and start timing.
- Cook for 7 to 8 minutes per pound for a 1.5 to 2-pound lobster.
- Once cooked, remove the lobster and place it in ice water to stop the cooking process.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
