Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  7. Divide the batter into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl.
  8. Pour the green batter into a football-shaped cake pan and the other into a round pan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the cakes cool completely.
  11. Frost the round cake with chocolate frosting and the football cake with white frosting.
  12. Decorate with additional frosting to create football laces.
