Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: 1 cup bourbon or rum

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and frothy.
  2. Add the sugar gradually while continuing to beat.
  3. In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Heat over medium until warm but not boiling.
  4. Slowly mix the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture.
  5. If desired, add bourbon or rum and stir well.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  7. Serve in glasses and sprinkle with extra nutmeg on top.
