Homemade eggnog is a creamy beverage made with eggs, milk, sugar, and spices. It’s perfect for holiday gatherings.

- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: 1 cup bourbon or rum
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and frothy.
- Add the sugar gradually while continuing to beat.
- In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Heat over medium until warm but not boiling.
- Slowly mix the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture.
- If desired, add bourbon or rum and stir well.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Serve in glasses and sprinkle with extra nutmeg on top.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, skip the bourbon or rum.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
