Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 coin (for good luck)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in almonds and place the coin in the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to hide the coin well in the batter.
- Decorate the top with powdered sugar if desired.
- Serve with coffee or tea.
