A fun gingerbread recipe inspired by Shrek.
Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- Green icing for decoration
- Chocolate candies for eyes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together.
- Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Combine well.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out Shrek shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let them cool completely.
- Decorate with green icing and chocolate candies.
Notes
- Use thick icing for better decoration.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Customize shapes as desired.
