A spiced gingerbread loaf perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup hot water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add molasses and eggs to the mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in hot water until combined.
- Pour batter into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Great with cream cheese frosting.
- Can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
