Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- Royal icing for decoration
- Assorted candies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together.
- Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough and cut out pieces for the house.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until firm.
- Let the pieces cool completely.
- Assemble the house using royal icing and decorate with candies.

- Use a template for cutting the house pieces.
- Let the icing dry completely before adding more decorations.
- Store the gingerbread house in a cool, dry place.
