Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Stir in molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and cut into gingerbread girl shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack and decorate with royal icing.
