Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  6. Stir in molasses.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Pour in hot water and mix until well combined.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
