A simple and tasty recipe for cooking frozen black eyed peas.

- 2 cups frozen black eyed peas
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until soft.
- Add frozen black eyed peas and water to the pot.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Stir occasionally and check for tenderness.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.

- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Can add ham or bacon for extra flavor.
