Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Green and white icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar together.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients and buttermilk to the mixture.
  6. Drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool.
  8. Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk for filling.
  9. Spoon filling between two cookie halves.
  10. Decorate with green and white icing to resemble footballs.
