- 6 wooden sticks

Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
- Insert wooden sticks into the center of each apple.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and cinnamon.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil without stirring until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and food coloring.
- Dip each apple into the caramel mixture, coating evenly.
- Let excess caramel drip off and place on parchment paper.
- Add optional toppings if desired.
- Allow candy apples to cool and harden before serving.
