Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light.
  4. Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Place cookies on a baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  10. Let cookies cool before decorating.
