Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Royal icing for decoration
- Assorted candies for disguising
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add molasses and egg, mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Roll out the dough and cut into gingerbread man shapes.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
- Decorate with royal icing and assorted candies to disguise the gingerbread man.
Notes
- Use different colors of icing for creative disguises.
- Allow icing to dry before adding more decorations.
- Store undecorated gingerbread men in an airtight container.
