A delightful sushi recipe perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1/2 pound raw fish (like salmon or tuna) or cooked shrimp
- Soy sauce for serving
Instructions
- Rinse sushi rice under cold water until water runs clear.
- Combine rice and water in a pot; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
- Cook for 20 minutes; remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl until dissolved.
- Stir the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice; let cool.
- Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat; spread a thin layer of rice over it.
- Add avocado, cucumber, carrot, and fish on top of the rice.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the mat; slice into pieces.
- Serve with soy sauce.
Notes
- You can use any filling you like.
- For a vegetarian option, use only vegetables.
- Experiment with different shapes to make it cute.
