Ingredients

- 1 pound sponge cake
- 2 cups custard
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 cup mixed berries
- 1/2 cup sherry
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the sponge cake into cubes.
- Layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish.
- Drizzle half of the sherry over the cake.
- Add half of the custard over the cake layer.
- Add a layer of mixed berries.
- Add a layer of whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Top with chocolate shavings and chopped nuts.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
