- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup crushed Christmas crackers
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter, brown sugar, and salt over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Spread the crushed Christmas crackers on the baking sheet.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers evenly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let sit for a few minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
- Cool completely before breaking into pieces.
