Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Royal icing for decoration
  • Colored sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Combine until dough forms.
  6. Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick.
  7. Cut shapes using cookie cutters and place on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Let cookies cool completely before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles.
