Delicious bunny-shaped cookies decorated with royal icing.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Gel food coloring (various colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into bunny shapes.
  7. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cookies cool completely.
  9. For royal icing, whisk egg whites and lemon juice, then gradually add powdered sugar.
  10. Divide icing into bowls and color with gel food coloring.
  11. Decorate cooled cookies with the royal icing.
