Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Boil the mixed dried fruits with water for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until well combined.
  4. Add eggs to the mixture and stir well.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  6. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  7. Fold in the boiled fruit and nuts.
  8. Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
  9. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 50-60 minutes.
  10. Let the cake cool before serving.
