Ingredients

- 1 cup black-eyed peas
- 2 cups okra, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Soak black-eyed peas overnight.
- Drain and rinse peas.
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic; sauté until onions are translucent.
- Add black-eyed peas, okra, cumin, and vegetable broth.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve warm.
