Description
A delightful assortment of 24 Valentine’s Day inspired macarons.
Ingredients
- Almond flour – 2 cups
- Powdered sugar – 2 cups
- Egg whites – 4 large
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup
- Food coloring – red and pink
- Butter – 1 cup (for filling)
- Powdered sugar – 2 cups (for filling)
- Vanilla extract – 2 tsp (for filling)
- Fruit preserves – 1 cup (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
- Whip egg whites until frothy, then slowly add granulated sugar.
- Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the almond flour mixture gently.
- Add food coloring to achieve desired shade.
- Pipe circles onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Let them sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then cool completely.
- For the filling, mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread or pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.

- Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements.
- Let macarons cool completely before filling.
