  • Food coloring – red and pink
  • Butter – 1 cup (for filling)
  • Powdered sugar – 2 cups (for filling)
  • Vanilla extract – 2 tsp (for filling)
  • Fruit preserves – 1 cup (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. Whip egg whites until frothy, then slowly add granulated sugar.
  4. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold in the almond flour mixture gently.
  6. Add food coloring to achieve desired shade.
  7. Pipe circles onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  8. Let them sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then cool completely.
  10. For the filling, mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Spread or pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.
