- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup beef drippings or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, milk, eggs, and salt until smooth.
- Let the batter rest for 30 minutes.
- Add drippings to a muffin tin and place in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the hot drippings, filling each cup halfway.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Make sure the drippings are very hot before adding the batter.
- You can substitute drippings with vegetable oil for a vegetarian option.
- Do not open the oven door while baking.
